Grace Carlander is a senior at Palmer Ridge High School. She is the Vice President of Marketing for her school's DECA chapter, a stage manager for her school's theater company, the Chief Marketing Officer for her school's chess club, and a member of her school's NHS chapter. Additionally, she has completed four business internships thanks to the connections she has made through DECA. Outside of school, she loves to hang out with friends, take her goldendoodle Mabel to Starbucks, go for ice cream with her twin brother Ben, and watch the Bachelorette with her parents. Grace is looking forward to studying finance in college and she will forever be grateful to all of the skills and experiences DECA has given her.
Farewell, Colorado DECA!
When I first joined DECA during my sophomore year of high school, I had no idea how much this organization would impact my life. As my senior season begins to draw to a close, I am proud of everything I have accomplished during these past three years of DECA. From helping me discover my passion for finance and marketing to giving me the opportunity to complete four marketing internships as a DECA member, DECA has changed my life for the better. I cannot express how thankful I am for my DECA advisor for supporting me, challenging me, and always looking for new ways to grow our DECA chapter. Additionally, I want to thank my parents and twin brother for their constant love and support. They have always been there to bounce idea off of and celebrate my wins. I would not be the person I am today without them. Finally, I want to thank Colorado DECA for giving me the chance to be a leader within this organization. While it has been challenging at times, I would not trade this experience for the world. As I take my final steps as a state officer, I am grateful for every person I have had the pleasure to work with to work and connect with during this year, it has been an honor to serve you.
