10/10/10 Initiative

The 10/10/10 Initiative is Colorado DECA’s signature statewide community service campaign. It’s designed to unite chapters under one mission: making a measurable difference in our communities through food, time, and donations.

2025 Featured Nonprofit Partner

Kenzi’s Causes

This year, Colorado DECA is proud to partner with Kenzi's Causes, a Colorado-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting underprivileged children and families across the state.
Kenzi's Causes works year-round to provide:
  • Holiday Toy Shops for families in need
  • Back-to-School Supplies to children in low-income communities
  • Essential Hygiene Items and birthday celebrations for homeless youth
  • Financial literacy workshops for kids and families

What Chapters Need to Do

Goal 1

10,000 Pounds of Food Donated

Each chapter helps contribute toward our collective goal of 10,000 pounds of non-perishable food for Colorado families.

Food Ideas:

  • Canned vegetables & fruit
  • Peanut butter, beans, rice, pasta
  • Shelf-stable milk, juice boxes
  • Baby food & formula
  • Snack packs for kids (granola bars, fruit cups)

Goal 2

LOREM IPSUM

Every DECA member is encouraged to contribute at least 10 hours of community service. These hours can be completed individually or through chapter-organized events.

Volunteering Ideas:

  • Volunteer at Kenzi's Toy Shops or backpack distribution
  • Host a hygiene kit packing party
  • Help out at a local food bank, school supply drive, or shelter
  • Organize a community clean-up or tutoring initiative
  • Create birthday kits for children

Chapters must log and verify volunteer hours using the provided template to be eligible for recognition.

Goal 3

$10 per Member
Raised

Fundraising helps Kenzi's Causes continue year-round programming for Colorado kids.

Fundraising Ideas:

  • Restaurant Nights (20% of proceeds donated)
  • Coffee or Cocoa Stand at school events
  • DECA Spirit Week Fundraiser (theme days with small entry fees)
  • “Pennies for Purpose” Change Drive
  • Venmo Bingo or Instagram Challenge

Chapters can raise funds through any legal, school-approved method. Set a chapter goal (e.g., $500+) to build momentum!
